I want to be an elder because it provides an opportunity to serve the Body of Christ. I take the qualifications for eldership, as specified in Scripture (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9) very seriously. Although I am not perfect, I strive to grow daily in my relationship with Christ. Each day, I humbly come before the Lord and ask how I can glorify His kingdom. I believe God is calling me to serve through church leadership. I believe in servant leadership, being true to God’s Word, caring for one another, helping others to walk out their faith, and trusting in my sovereign King. If given the opportunity to become an elder, I will shepherd the church body with humility, grace, and love, while remaining faithful to the Holy Scriptures.
My family has been attending Calvary for 3.5 years. Prior to coming, we attended Christian Heritage Church for 15 years. I’ve been married to my wife, Leslie, for 34 years. We have five children: three sons—Andrew; Blake, who is married to Laura and has blessed us with two grandchildren, Finley and Giselle; and Christian, who is married to Sarah—and two daughters, Darcie and Emma.
I am involved with the Welcoming Committee and the Prayer Team. I regularly attend the Men’s Heart of the Man group and the Tuesday morning Bible studies. I have also been a member of a discipleship group.
