Daniel Stidham
Oak Lawn Community Pastor
Daniel Stidham is the proud husband of Megan Stidham, father of Nora and Micah, and a follower of Jesus. He was born in Kentucky to his American Father and Filipino American Mother, and he is the youngest of three. At nine years old, Daniel’s family moved to Houston where he lived until he was twenty-eight. Daniel started following Jesus when he was a Junior in High School and after working in banking for four years, Daniel got married and entered into church ministry on the same weekend in 2014.
After serving First Presbyterian Church of Houston for 4 years as a college minister and as Director of Evangelism, in 2018, God called his family to Chicago to serve as the pastor of Calvary Church of Oak Lawn. Chicago had been a significant consideration for the Stidham family due to Megan's desire to pursue a PhD in Theology at Wheaton College, a desire that God confirmed in 2019. Megan is currently dedicating her efforts to writing her dissertation with the hopes to graduate in 2025. Daniel, on the other hand, completed his Master's in Divinity, specializing in urban church planting, at Western Theological Seminary in May 2019.
A notable characteristic of Daniel is his passion for cultivating meaningful connections, both within and beyond the confines of the church. Daniel loves bringing people together, whether it be through table tennis battles or immersing himself in the world of tabletop board games. With his extroverted nature, Daniel is always ready to hang out with you... even this week! Feel free to text him at 832-545-4861. Lord willing, Daniel envisions establishing a coffee shop in Oak Lawn, fostering local student connections through a scholarship-based mentoring program, and nurturing new discipleship rhythms within our community, leading us to reflect the transformative life of Jesus.
Daniel draws inspiration from an array of theological influencers, including but not limited to Tim Keller, Lesslie Newbigin, John Piper, Charles Spurgeon, Matt Chandler, Skye Jethani, Henri Nouwen, Francis Chan, and numerous others who have enriched his faith journey.
