Created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Care & Compassion

  • Ministry Contact: Nannette Pachol

Calvary’s Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals and community members who are facing challenges in their lives.  Stephen Ministers are trained to listen, empathize, support, encourage, and pray for others.  They minister to those who may be grieving a loss, facing a serious illness, caring for a loved one, experiencing job challenges, or having financial problems.  One of the first things a Stephen Minister learns is that Stephen Ministers are care-givers, but only God is the cure-giver. Prayerfully consider if God is calling you to be trained as a Stephen Minister. This involves joining a training class which includes 50 hours of training and at least a 2 year commitment to serving. If you feel you have the skills and desire to be compassionate, trustworthy, and full of faith, this might be the ministry for you.

Our Samuel ministry team is looking for individuals who have a heart for service and prayerful spirit, which is shared with our meal recipient during their time of need.
